The Universe and Us

The conversation that I longed for
An experience to keep
Caused my spirit to awake
Made the human weep

Made my soul cry out for more
For all that I could take
I realized I was asleep
From the too countless mistakes

But the words so very strong
I changed by the reply
I didn’t know that this could be
Expression without the lie

I know that I’m not wrong
It was the flow that made me see
My desire was to try
Til the universe answered me

MASTERY OF SELF

The search for your Divinity
May make you feel alone
But the empty in the feeling
Is the echo to come home

Away from the illusions
That so easily are found
In your base nature'd emotions
That keep you feeling down

You can never be alone
You share an ocean true
With a multitude of spirits
Who are seeking just like you

We continue with the struggle
Cause we feel we’re separate
As we’re left with the emotions
From the loves that didn’t stick

We feel we’re on our own
When we yearn for human touch
And the hands that we desire
Are so wrong they ask too much

What ails the modern man
Is not learning from within
From the path of your enlightenment
That the first few steps begin

It is not emotions
That make us all the same
But the image of our likeness
And Peace it’s only name

Life is but the practice
For the Mastery of Self
Beyond these strong emotions
Is the key to eternal health

We must overcome our habits
Of the way that we react
So when we ask our God for help
We can hear Him answer back

No Enemy

You are not my enemy
But my opportunity for good
If I fall not for the illusion
And see oneness as I should

You are not against me
For I cannot be perceived
But fight against perception
From what your mind believes

You are not my enemy
The blessing for which I prayed
You are now the path where
My peaceful foundation is laid

God doesn’t have an enemy
Mind of man’s too small
We can’t hate the life in us
We need love them one and all

Squeeze

Squeeze from life what you can
Minds that won’t change let them stand
What you hold is more than real
Speak out loud the mystery you feel

Let go of all that death will take
Thank God for all of your mistakes
Love the way that Jesus did
Find the voice creation hid

Give till you are empty inside
Live so large you just can’t hide
Become a peace for all to see
Share your new found Self with me

At the time of my death

I will call my father’s name
As I close my eyes
I will realize
He and I are the same

At the time of my death
As I close my eyes
I will see that you are me
I will myself to love
With my greatest intensity

At the time of my death
With my last thought
I will create the word
I will change reality
With an idea you haven’t heard

At the time of my death
The last beat of my heart
I will forgive them all
I will become a part of you
So you never fear the fall
